    • City Commission Appoints Charter Review Committee: The Coral Gables City Commission has appointed a Charter Review Committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the City Charter. The City Charter is the constitutional document that establishes the underlying structure of our city government. The City’s charter has not been reviewed for more than a decade. It was previously amended in 2004.

Comments about Cathy Swanson Rivenbark, our new City Manager: Coral Gables finally has a new City Manager. After a 6-month search, the City Commission unanimously appointed Cathy Swanson-Rivenbark, Hollywood’s current City Manager. Cathy met with the Mayor and commissioners individually, and was also publicly interviewed for 2 hours.

    • Is There A Crime Problem in Coral Gables?
      Thursday, September 11, at 11 AM (time certain) there will be a City Com- mission meeting at City Hall to discuss the crime problem in the Gables.  According to a Sept. 5th Miami Herald article, Gables residents are upset about recent crimes, saying police are not doing enough. On Sept. 2nd, more than 150 people gathered for a crime watch meeting at the Coral Gables Public Library.
